It is more than that.

We as a whole need a six-pack set of abs, isn't that right? It supports our fearlessness, does right by us of our bodies and makes us like ourselves. You begrudge that fella you saw at the rec center with his abs to kick the bucket for or that young lady you meet at a gathering with her tore abs. In any case, we know it takes a ton of diligent work. Who needs those dreary activities and denying diets in any case? What's more, that dishearten us. I always trained hard in the gym, but my stomach muscles are never displayed, and so I did not have a 6 packs. I downloaded this book for fun, and was pleasantly surprised. In this book you will find many useful exercises for the abdominal muscles, which are accompanied by beautiful photos. In the book you will find the food recipes and diet. Using the tips that I have found in this book, in a short time I began to notice that the abdominal muscles have begun to appear, and I finally saw my package 6. Recommend this book by Adam for all who wants get Abs.

This book by Evgeny Patyaev shows the reader the reason most people do not have fabulous, abs is that they do not have the information that you will find in this quick reading book. This book will show you the two steps to a six pack. Along with the diet and lifestyle needed to give you the look that you are looking for. Well written and packed with the knowledge of what it takes to make the changes to give you the body that you have dreamed about. One of my favorite lines from the book. “Diet is like a chisel that helps mold your abs once you’ve started building them.” I have rated the book a solid 5 star rating and would enjoy reading more books by Evgeny Patyaev. One of the things that I liked best about this book was the exercises that were shown in the book.

A true step by step beginner's manual with color photos

A well written non technical book that doesn't get bogged down in theory but lays a good foundation on the basics to get you going. Presents advantages and disadvantages of different composites to help you decide on a choice of composite to use. Covers safety, basic tools you will need and considerations in setting up a work space. The book then presents 4 projects, a flat panel lamination, speaker panel lamination, a mandrel lamination, and a moldless lamination of a hood scoop. Demolding and finishing techniques for these projects are covered in great detail with useful hints. The presentation of the projects remind me of a Chiltons auto repair manual, except its all in high quality photographic paper with color photos,better descriptions and detail. This book is 142 pages with over 300 high quality color photos with an average size of 3.25 x 2.25 inches. There are also references in the back of where you can get composites and resins to begin your project. You will finish this book with an understanding of basic composite fabrication and the confidence to do a small project yourself. This book does not cover advanced techniques, vacuum bagging, resin infusion, sandwich structures or cores such as honeycomb or foam. It also does not cover repair techniques. It is for those that want to fabricate some basic composite parts in their garage or workshop and a great step by step photographic reference for everybody. I encourage the author in a future project to cover the more advanced techniques in the same format since there is nothing out there. I look forward to handbook # 2.

Good place to start, but missing information. The book is also laid out wierd.

There is a lot of good information in this book as the other reviewers have said and I do recommend getting it if you are interested in learning about composites, basic mold making, and general wet lay techniques.

There are however 2 things I really don't like about this book.

This first is that the example pictures referred to in the text is often a few pages away. You can't flip through the book looking for pictures and then read about that picture on that same page, it's often back a few pages.

Secondly, it appears as if the book is missing information. There are pictures of the demolding process for a multi piece mold yet the instructions are very incomplete. It does talk about bolting the mold together and unmodling it, but it doesn't talk about the actual construction of the multi-piece mold.

Excellent introductory guide--major pluses, only a few minuses

As it states in its introduction, this book is intended as a PRACTICAL, hands-on guide to learning the basics of working with composites. It spends almost no time on designing composite structures and instead focuses on the actual techniques you need to learn in order to build those structures yourself. It begins by describing the most common materials and how and why they are used, then moves on to safety (very important) and helpful tools, and then into how to actually make some basic composite structures via various wet layup techniques.

To me, one of the strong points of this book is that it isn't too discipline-specific, i.e. it doesn't seem to have a bias toward any one type of structure. Almost every other book from which I've tried to learn some of these basic techniques has been aimed toward building either an airplane or a boat of some sort, and used examples (and terminology) specific to them. This book might have just a *slight* bias toward automobiles, but that's it. By showing how to lay up a flat panel, a tube and a couple of other structures, it shows several basic techniques that can be applied to a wide variety of projects. It also shows how to make different types of molds, the pros and cons of different types of resin (and how to choose the best one depending on what you're trying to build) and different types of reinforcement. And it shows a variety of finishing techniques as well, which I've rarely seen in any of the books I've encountered in the five-plus years I've been working with composites--including a couple I *wish* I had learned much sooner.

Another strong point is the clear COLOR photographs, which are consistently well composed and well lit, so you can actually see what's really going on. Every photo and diagram also has a descriptive caption, which are consistently excellent. My only quibble, and it's a very small one, is that the photos sometimes run ahead of the text by a couple of pages. But even if you just follow the photos (there are hundreds of them), you will still get a very good idea of the process being shown. One other observation: Many of the photos are arranged six to a page (two across and three down) and read in order down the left-hand column, then back to the top of the right-hand column. It was a bit confusing at first, as I would've expected to read across the page first and then down to the next row. But again, that's easy enough to get used to--and the photos are numbered.

The author's language is conversational and informal throughout, a perfect match for a practical guide. Also, the paper is thick and glossy, the layout is clean, uncluttered and easy to read, and the perfect-bound construction seems well done. So the book should last for quite a while.

If you're looking for a book that covers many of the basics, but geared toward aviation and with a somewhat more theoretical approach, check out Composite Basics by Andrew C. Marshall. But if you're looking for a consistently superior guide to the basics of working with composites, Composite Materials Fabrication Handbook is the one you want.

NOTE: This book (Fabrication Handbook #1) covers basic wet layups only. It does NOT cover prepregs, compression molding, vacuum bagging or resin infusion. However, those topics and others are covered in Composite Materials Fabrication Handbook #2 by the same author, which is just as good as Handbook #1 and also worth every penny. Do what I did and just buy both at the same time. You won't regret it.

Good critical overview of Svankmajer's films

This book collects a number of critical essays about the filmmaker Jan Svankmajer and his work. I found Peter Hames' introductory essay (in which he provides an overview of Czech film history and the origins of the Czech surrealist group) and interview with Svankmajer particularly interesting.

I withhold one star for lack of variety. There is a lot of repetition about mannerism, surrealism, and puppets throughout the essays. That's not to say these aren't all important aspects of Svankmajer's work, but a little critical variation would have been nice. Nonetheless, it is an interesting read and contains a few essays that are frequently cited in other critical works about Svankmajer--particularly the essay by O'Pray--so it was nice to finally read them in their entirety rather than merely as fragmentary quotes in other essays.

The short piece by Svankmajer himself--"Decalogue"--is also a lovely little gem hidden in this book.

Life-Changing

I spent nearly a year working the 12 steps in this workbook and it changed my life forever. It causes you to examine your thinking and your make up, enabling you to identify your false beliefs and make changes in your life that usher in God's peace. Really looking at your life can be scary, but as the Lord shines His light on those dark places while you work this program, the authors continually give scripture references affirming God's love for you and the hope associated with a life built upon His truth. Perfect love casts out all fear (1John 4:18)and the love of Jesus will do just that as you navigate those scary places. I think EVERY PERSON, could benefit from this program, not just people trying to work through issues of co-dependency or addiction.

This study is highly effective in bringing change to the life that seeks change. The one who desires more real freedom and life will find this book instrumental in leading them to these gifts. Though it isn't an easy path, it is well worth the while!

Want to save yourself hundreds of hours trying to figure blogging out? Then get this book.

I wish I would have had this book when I started blogging. What can take me countless amount of hours to figure out (and then still not sure I got it right) Becca can guide you to in minutes. What widget to get? What plugin? How do I do this? Why should I do that? There are so many tutorials out there but they are often complicated and adds to the frustration. Becca has this way of explaining it in an easy, understandable way. With her book and tutorials I'm now able to focus on writing posts instead of spending that time searching for answers. If I could I would buy every blogger this book. It will save you so much frustration and time.

Required reading for blogger wannabes

I've been dabbling in blogging and reading blogs for almost 10 years. I've only recently become serious about my own blogging journey. "Everything But the Posts" is the perfect springboard for the next step in my journey. Becca Ludlum's book is perfect for a blogging newbie, dabbler, or experienced blogger looking into the next phase of for their blog. Becca has great advice on setting up your blog, improving SEO, and developing a readership and community in the social media world. She even walks you through the process of monetizing your blog and provides examples of how she did this herself! I had to refrain from highlighting almost every paragraph. The book is FULL of easy to read and implement advice and I look forward to making over my own blog with it in mind.
I am lucky enough to call Becca a friend and cheerleader/mentor in my own life and am so glad she took the time to share her wisdom and experience with the world. If you have or want to start a blog, don't skip "Everything But the Posts!"
