The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) provides education and practice management services for orthopaedic surgeons and allied health professionals. The Academy now serves about 24,000 members internationally. The Department of Emergency Health Services is an academic department within the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The department provides undergraduate education resulting in the Bachelor of Science degree with concentrations in paramedic and EMS system management, and graduate education at the Master of Science level. The department's Professional and Continuing Education division is home to the nationally accredited CCEMTP program. These values, and the objectives that follow, are the foundation of ACEP's planning processes and Council and Board actions. The values of the American College of Emergency Physicians are: Quality emergency care is a fundamental right and unobstructed access to emergency services should be available to all patients who perceive the need for emergency services. There is a body of knowledge unique to emergency medicine that requires continuing refinement and development. Physicians entering the practice of emergency medicine should be residency trained in emergency medicine. Quality emergency medicine is best practiced by qualified, credentialed emergency physicians. The best interests of patients are served when emergency physicians practice in a fair, equitable, and supportive environment. Emergency physicians have the responsibility to play the lead roles in the definition, management, evaluation, and improvement of quality emergency care.

Kindle version has Serious errors
By Jim Hampton
I just started reading and was first surprised to see small typographic errors like "elleclive perlormance lime" in a book that I thought should be inscrutable. Just now I read a paragraph describing that "cerebral blood vessels respond to the decrease in carbon dioxide by vasodilation." I don't know if I should keep reading and risk that I am getting a compromised text. I suggest you not invest in this book until the publisher revisits it and corrects problems in the next edition.Critical Care Transport
Just read the description of "subarachnoid hemorrhage" described as bleeding between the arachnoid and dura mater (instead of pia mater, which would be correct)[American (AAOS); UMBC, (2009-11-13). Critical Care Transport (p. 403). Jones and Bartlett ebooks. Kindle Edition.]

Must Buy for the CCTechnician
By J. Winget
Recently used CCT text for my Florida DOT aircrew course. The text covers, in depth, a miriad of critical care subjects. It is the most recent standard for critical care transport review used by Nurses, Medics, and Respiratory therapists. AAOS has published an essential text that I use for daily reference in my work as a paramedic.
